Happy Friday Internet!
I wanted to invite you all to an amazing event and trust me it’s going to be epic!! let me tell you why! “Steelo” is amazing guy and very talented dancer and more!.. The amazing part is just like photography we tell stories with our camera… Well internet he does the same but with dance serious! In January of 2009 I had the privilege and honor to meet Steelo and a few of the Groovaloos team and founder “Shooz” Bradley Rapier here in Riverside. Below are a few pictures I took while they were teaching classes to the students. I remember I had a smile a HUGE smile while documenting the whole evening. I felt like a kid at Disney Land, I wish I was lying but I’m not haha I love love Dance!
This same year they also took the winning title of Superstars of Dance how awesome is that right? Below are a few clips to see them all in action!
Now a little about Steelo Richard Vazquez:
Richard was born and raised in Bronx, New York. He moved to Puerto Rico at the age of 11/12 and began to learn how to bboy by Poeone. He continued to dance and compete winning competitions and talent shows, etc. At the age of 18 he got a modeling agent in Puerto Rico and started auditioning and touring with local Puerto Rican reageaton artist. At the age of 20 he moved to Los Angeles where he continued to pursuing bboying. He also got a dance and print agent and worked jobs such as GQ Magazine, Madonna, Oprah, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Janet Jackson, and Rihanna to name a few. He toured with Gwen Stefani, worked on movies such as Malibu’s Most Wanted, and Coach Carter. He recently caught the acting bug and is currently pursuing acting full time.

On June 20th of this year, Richard “Steelo” Vazquez, a well-known, successful dancer/bboy, suffered from a ruptured brain aneurysm. He underwent emergency surgery and during the operation, suffered another rupture. After all his surgeries were complete, Steelo had four ruptures in total and left him needing extensive rehabilitation to learn to walk and talk again.
This fundraiser will support him, his wife, and his one year old son during this long recovery process.
